WELCOME TO POLICY & PROCEDURE SYSTEM
Demystifying the System
WHAT READERS ARE SAYING
Systems engineering is the art of decomposing a system from its most complex to
its simplest element. It is, therefore, logical to extend this same thinking to crafting
a Policy and Procedure structure, which this book addresses, that not only captures
the wholeness of the system, but equally as important results in a user-focused
set of documents. Nothing is as fundamental in today’s competitive environment
as consistent and repeatable process outcomes. The only way to achieve that on
an ongoing basis is through a structured, deconflicted set of business rules that
employees follow religiously.”
Having worked at various sized companies over the last 35 years, ranging
from 10’s to 10,000’s employees, I have witnessed many mesmerizing ways for
handling policies and procedures. While some were adequate, the majority were
catastrophes. This is a book that removes the mysteries on creating a robust system
using a principle-based approach for a well-designed structure. This book is an
invaluable tool for any size company
Policy & procedure is supposed to enable an organization’s mission. Too often,
though, it bats last, and then only in response to new statutory requirements or
recent media events. Scott Green’s book helps you restore the ability of policy
and procedure to advance organizational objectives. Scott outlines the principles,
tips, and practices that make policy and procedure documentation an effective
management tool to drive consistency, culture, and, where needed, compliance
with industry norms and regulations.
